Meet Jennifer! Co-Owner of Let’s Roll Painting, Super Mom, & Yoga Extraordinaire! She was born & raised in Delaware, and graduated from University of Delaware with an Honors Bachelor of Arts with Distinction in Geography and Latin American Studies (double major) and a minor in Spanish.
She spent a year in Guatemala with a Rotary International scholarship, and spent a brief time working at the Smithsonian American Indian Museum until she moved to Transportation Security Administration since 2004 (she still works there!).
She grew Let’s Roll Painting from a one-painter operation in 2005 to a well-known and respected mid-sized painting company in the Loudoun County area. She manages the administrative side of the company.
She had a 6-year foray into real estate, which gave her insight into the needs of real estate clients and working with agents on real estate-related paint jobs. A lot of our referrals and clients are from these relationships.
In a weird way all of her travels as a young person, in addition to her degree, prepared her for what she does – many of our painters are from different countries and this has allowed her to have a real understanding of their backgrounds.
In her free time she does vinyasa yoga, goes hiking, and watches movies. YOGA IS LIFE for her. It's therapy, church, exercise, meditation, deep connection, self-love, discipline, balance, and mind-body syncing all rolled into one. It is so critical to her well-being she can't over state it. And she thinks everyone should have a regular practice. If you want to come with her to a yoga class sometime just ask! She also has two kids who make her laugh all the time and keep her busy!
Speaking of travels…her favorite country to travel to is Italy. She loves their espresso, food, history, natural beauty, and the slower rhythm of life.
When it comes up in conversation that Lester (the other Co-Owner of LRP) and her aren't married anymore but they still work together sometimes customers are kind of like "eek" thinking they've touched on a delicate topic. But honestly, for them it's just facts – they didn't work well as spouses, but they work very well together as business partners. Their skill sets are opposite so they’re a good team. Also, they know the well-being of their kids and family depends on how they manage their company. So they continue to be a solid team, though they’ve had to redefine what that team looks like.
Her favorite thing about her job: the question askers – FOR REAL! She absolutely loves it when she gets to spend 25 minutes on the phone with someone and they ask her 75 questions. She is also a question-asker herself and appreciates someone who wants to know what they're getting into and who they're getting into it with. The more questions people ask, the better she knows what they expect, and the smoother the job goes.
Meet Lester! Lester is one of the Co-Owners of Let's Roll Painting, Super Dad, and Tri-Athlete Extraordinaire! He is one of the many faces of our small family-owned business and is the person you will be meeting with once you schedule an estimating appointment.
Practically everybody in Loudoun County knows Lester! If you have ever scheduled an estimate appointment, or actually scheduled to get the painting work done, then you have at some point met Lester. At this point he can probably provide you an estimate with his eyes closed!
Behind the scenes, and what a lot of people don’t realize, is that when he’s not meeting potential clients for an estimate he is overseeing all of our projects for the work actually scheduled to get completed. He manages a handful of our crews and is on site at the project making sure that everything goes smoothly and handling some of the unexpected things that can sometimes arise during a job.
He is one of the easiest people to talk to and will make your estimate appointment an absolute breeze. When he is not working you will most likely see him preparing for his millionth triathlon! Don’t be surprised if you see him running somewhere, swimming at the gym, or cycling on the W&OD Trail. Lester and Jennifer share two boys who keep them very busy and on their toes.
Meet Jamie! She is our Estimate and Social Media Expert, Hiking Fanatic, and Part-Time Yogi. When you reach out to us to schedule your estimate appointment she is the first voice you will hear and your first point of contact to get you started on your painting journey. This is one of her favorite parts of the job because she loves talking to people, figuring out what you need to get done, and making the process as seamless as possible.
She also handles some of the weekly invoicing but her other favorite part of the job is handling our company's social media needs. She recently re-designed our entire website, writes all the blogs, and makes sure that daily posts go out on Instagram and Facebook. She also recently re-designed the company‘s logo, and we think it’s pretty cool if we do say so ourselves!
She has been with the company since 2014 and her love for Jennifer and Lester is one of the reasons she stays on board!
Back in the day when she taught yoga Jennifer (and sometimes Lester) would take her classes, and she feels truly blessed that she has this kind of relationship with the people that she works for.
When Jamie is not working at Lets Roll Painting she is most likely outside getting some fresh air and vitamin D, and taking a long hike to re-center herself, gather her thoughts, and keep her mental health in check. And if she’s not hiking she probably has her nose stuck in a new book or is designing one of her latest mala necklaces.
These are the amazing painters who actually perform the work! We have about 3-4 operational crews, with a handful of guys per crew, who are constantly rotating through projects. They are skilled workers, many who have been with us since the beginning, and are exceptional at what they do.
